Vomiting after chinese meal

by javonda
(easthartford ct)

So my little cousin legacy was all over me during the day with no signs of being sick. We had a lot of close contact throughout the day. We went to a Chinese place to get her something to eat. She had no problem eating and was fine until about 2 hours later. She had complained to her sister honesty and my cousin destiny and me about a stomach ache. She had used the restroom to do whatever it was she had to do. After being in there for about 5 minutes she claimed that she was feeling fine. She danced outside along with other family members that night and had no other comments about feeling sick anymore. She was around plenty of our family members that night. So my question is was that food borne illness or stomach flu and will any of us catch it too? I mean I was in extra close contact with her before she fell ill so did I possibly become exposed to it? Please help I'm freaking out. I have a huge germ phobia!

Food poisoning

I suspect this was food poisoning, the most common reason being Bacillus cereus, a common bacterium that often can be found in uncooked food, particularly rice a common ingredient in Chinese meals.

It usually causes acute vomiting shortly after ingestion, but usually settles fairly quickly. It can also cause diarrhea too.

This isn't a stomach flu presentation. Unless anyone ingested the same food then you/they shouldn't get it.
