Pain in Upper Left Back

For several days I'm feeling pain in the upper left back. It feels like a muscle pain but inside my ribs cage, I felt this pain before but not as much as these last couple days. I know it's not kidney pain. What can be?

Pain in the upper left back is commonly due to a musculoskeletal strain. The fact that you have had it before makes this even more likely. However, if it feels it is coming from inside then lung conditions should be considered. If you have a fever or cough then it could be a low grade chest infection giving you pleurisy or even a blood clot to the lung. Sometimes pain can be referred from another area of your body such as gallstone pain. Its always worth getting it checked out with your primary physician. Anti-inflammatory pain killers such as Ibuprofen can help in this situation assuming no contraindication to taking them.
