p24 antigen test

My HIV Test Result

Hi, I got tested for HIV 11 days after I might have been exposed, and the results of my p24 antigen test were negative. I'm aware this may not guarantee that I'm seronegative, but is my negative test result a good sign? I'm getting tested again really soon anyway because it's going to be a month since I think I've been exposed.

Your negative result is good because it shows that you were not HIV positive on that day. The important one though is the next test that will determine the real situation. Usually it should be done 3 months from your previous one as this is the conversion time frame, so if your 1 month test is negative, I would still recommend having a further test 3 months from exposure. You should also have a check for other sexually transmitted diseases too such as hepatitis C. Hope this helps and good luck.
