nappy rash

My daughter has very bad nappy rash sore red inflamed and sores she gets it quite a lot and she is 2 and a half. She is predominantly out of nappies, just wears 1 at night. It looks like she has burns. I have tried using all the creams.

Advice on Nappy Rash



Without seeing the rash, it is difficult to comment, but this could be a fungal or Candida rash which is quite common. Using Canesten or Clotrimazole cream or powder may help this (or other antifungal treatments). Ammoniac rashes are common due to chemical irritation from urine and faeces and barrier creams such as Drapolene usually help along with using good quality nappies with excellent absorbency. Regular baths will also help.
