My fibromyalgia

Fibromyalgia wasn't something I had heard of before. I started getting tired and developed these pains. It was awful, I tried all the usual painkillers and nothing seemed to work. I couldn't sleep properly and it really was getting me down.

I went to my doctor, but all he wanted to do was give me more painkillers and sent me away. This only made me feel worse and no one seemed to know what was wrong with me. When I went back to the doctors again, he did some blood tests on me and they all came back clear. I was then sent to a rheumatologist, thinking I might have a form of arthritis. It was at this point that I was given the diagnosis of fibromyalgia.

Since then, I have been reading a lot in to the subject. I know its not currable, but I have tried changing my diet, exercising and also went to an aromatherapist. This seemed to help me quite a lot. Katie, my aromatherapist, has been very understanding. She has given me more confidence to live with this condition. I know some people think its not a real illness, but it is and I would love to hear more stories from other sufferers out there with similar symptoms.
