Loss of libido after removal of uterus
by Aminah
(Cairo Egypt)
I’ve Lost My Libido Following HysterectomyIn 1995 I had my uterus removed due to excess bleeding from three small tumors (Fibroids) I believe thats what they were called. Since then my sex life went down hill and it hurts my husband. He is not very happy with my lost drive. We tried everything to the point where I no longer want it. Is this normal? Answer: I’ve Lost My LibidoI’m sorry to hear of your libido problems and the strain this is putting on your marriage. Assuming you have no pain with sex, I suspect there are a lot of psychological problems with your libido issues. It isn’t normal to lose your libido after a hysterectomy, unless ovaries were removed although this is unlikely. There are lots of medical causes for libido loss, but I think in your case you are likely to require some counselling with this. I would suggest seeing your doctor to make sure there is no physical cause and they can arrange some counselling for you and your husband to sort this out for you.
