An Example An Irritable Bowel Syndrome Investigation Post
Hi, I’m Mark and I’m 58 years old. I went to my doctor as I have been having some bleeding when I go to the toilet to open my bowels. He said that I would need this investigated so he referred me to a gastroenterologist.
He said that I need to have a colonoscopy test as there were concerns about colon cancer and I have this booked in a weeks time. I’m now feeling petrified at having the test done as I don’t want to be told I have cancer. I also don’t like taking laxatives and have been told that I will need to take a really powerful one before I have the test. I would love to hear from anyone who has had the test, is the laxative really that bad and whats it like having the test? I’d also love to hear from anyone else having these investigations. Should I have the test sedated or try without?
So whether you are having a colonoscopy, flexible sigmoidoscopy, barium enema, CT scan or any other investigation then now is the time to discuss it with others. Our Free forum with no member login or registration required is open for you today, 24/7!
