Being a doctor, going to see another doctor as a patient is a very strange experience. I have been suffering from flu-like symptoms and needed a certificate as I have been unable to work. Sitting in the waiting room, I felt strangly anxious at being on the 'other side'. Yes, illness is no respecter of who you are, but it still didn't seem quite right that I was sitting there. However, I've got to say, I have a fantastic family doctor and he soon put me at ease and I left the surgery feeling a lot happier than before my appointment.
