Could I have ibs?

Doctor I am in need of your help, my stomach has been swollen and very painful for five months straight. Could I have IBS?

However, it is difficult to comment on your swollen stomach with such little information. There are numerous causes for bloating and the degree of investigation really depends on other factors such as age, sex, previous abdominal operations, previous medical history, bowel frequency and symptoms such as diarrhea, constipation, weight loss, indigestion, bleeding from the back passage etc.
