continuous vomiting more than a week

My father is a heart patient before that he had his gall bladder operation a few years back. He is 66 years of age now. Almost a week ago his stomach began paining very hard with continuous vomiting, he was hospitalized, doctor after examined concluded to have some ascitic fluid. That ascitic fluid after certain tests, not found to be malignant, still he is vomiting, sometime yellowish and now in copper colour, doctor has given further tests . Im really worried, is there any treatment for this symptoms

Ascites fluid

There are many causes for ascites fluid accumulation. I’m pleased to hear that no cancer cells were found in the fluid although this doesn’t exclude cancer. You mention your father is a heart patient and sometimes fluid can build up in the abdomen due to right heart failure. This is usually treated with diuretics or drugs that stimulate the kidneys to remove fluid.

Ascites can form due to many medical issues. These include liver disease, kidney problems, infections including TB and cancerous conditions too. The doctors will clearly need to run more tests to find out what is wrong.

As for the vomiting, this can be due to so many causes. Sometimes the ascites compresses the stomach and this can cause nausea and vomiting. However, he could be vomiting because of the condition that is causing the ascites to accumulate. You need to discuss this further with his doctors.
