Contraindications
Renal impairment, known drug sensitivity or anaphylaxis (allergic reaction), caution in cardiovascular disease
side effects
diarrhea, abnormal liver function tests, headache, dizziness, rash, tiredness, rarely acute pancreatitis, heart dysrhythmias, confusion, depression, hallucinations, allergic reactions, blood disorders, breast enlargement, impotence, alopecia
Adult dose
400mg-800mg at night or 400mg twice a day or 400mg four times a day to a maximum of 2.4 grams a day in divided doses.
