I have not been officially told by anyone medical that I have IBS but I suffer the same symptoms as IBS especially when consuming dairy and wheat products. I am 24 years old and have suffered with this since I started my periods at the age of 13 years old, with it getting worse. At first it started just being my period, where as now I can suffer at any time. This has resulted in me have a very strict blend diet because I work full time and do not want to upset and restrict my daily actives more. My stomach has been feeling off for the past few days, like my insides are twice the size it normally should be. I feel full all the time and therefore have lack of interest in food at the moment. I can also have a sudden on set where need to go the toilet which is normally loose than normal and can be very distressing as its normally happens after Ive left the house, like mid journey. This mainly happens in the very early mornings or evening apart from the other day when i was greatly stressed at work which caused an on set of anxiety which upset my insides more.
Ive seen Colpermin tablets in Superdrug and got myself a packet. I just wondered if it can cause side affect to people who arent officially diagnosed with ISB and how long do the tablets work for?
You see I am working full time for the next 5 days so I really can not be off work and i'd rather try and have a week with this under some control til i can get to the doctors than worrying and ruining my week, with possible time off
Thanks for any help you may have for me.
Colpermin
Yes you can take Colpermin off prescription. It is a peppermint oil capsule and is very safe to take. You can read more about this by clicking on the Colpermin link.
Whilst Im sure you are probably right about your diagnosis, I would always recommend having this confirmed by your doctor.
