breast cancer treated with chemotherapy
I have a question, My Aunty is at 4th stage of breast cancer and she was treated with chemo therapy, now she went into comma last night maybe it is due to allergic reaction? she went into comma again today and isnt recognising anyone she is in hospital right now and doctors have said she has got a metastatic disease of breast cancer and if it is allergy what is the side effect after current situation and please elaborate about it, thank u
Answer:
Sorry to hear about your aunty. An allergic reaction to the chemotherapy seems very unlikely to me. I note your aunty has got metastatic breast cancer so I wonder if she has got brain metastases causing this? Should could be experiencing a form of seizure or fit as a result. Some chemotherapy drugs can lower the bodies seizure levels too. Another possible cause would be adrenal involvement with the cancer causing an Addisonian crisis. This is where the bodies steroid levels are low (can be induced from fast withdrawel of steroids) and can cause collapse and coma. I hope her condition improves for you.
