blood from throat.

I am a 19 year old girl. I have been seeing small amount of blood in my spit for the past 10 days. This is not happening daily. It happens only once in 2 or 3 days. Before seeing blood in my spit I could taste blood in my throat. Few days before I started seeing blood in my spit I have got my voice very much strained (because of singing). Sometimes I feel very mild pain in my throat (this symptom also started recently say one month). Other than this I do not have any other kind of problem. I am very worried about this. Is this very serious? Is this any kind of cancer? What could be the reason for this?
Blood in spit
At the age of 19, cancer would be really very unlikely. There are lots of reasons for blood in the back of the throat including oral problems such as gingivitis (bleeding gums), nasal bleeding with post nasal drip, throat infections, blood disorders and lung conditions such as infections, bronchiectasis and many more. You need to see your doctor to be examined, maybe some blood tests to check that you blood clots ok and even perhaps a chest x ray and a specialist opinion from an ENT doctor. I wouldn’t worry about this as I am sure there is a very simple explanation for these symptoms. I’m sure after being examined, that you will be able to get the help that you need in dealing with these symptoms of blood in the spit. Good luck with this!
