Abdominal Pain Right Side

2 nights ago, I had a very nagging sharp pain in my right side that radiated from my navel to my lower right side, it was tender to the touch and I ran a low grade fever of 99.6 I didn't really feel bad nor good, just generally uneasy. I lay down and the next morning the pain was still there but not as bad nor as tender, but it was still there. It kind of came and went so to say. Now today, I still feel like my side still hurts but only in spurts and I am hungry but the thought of eating makes me feel worse yet if I do it, it comes right back out in the form of diarrhea. Does this sound like a virus or something more serious? I am currently taking antibiotics for stitches in my right arm. I have no allergies to medications; my fathers side has a history of cancer, high blood pressure, diabetes, and heart disease. My father also had an appendicitis. My mothers side has Myasthenia Gravis, High blood pressure. and degenerative bone disease.

Pain In The Right Side of Abdomen

The pain in the right side of your abdomen that radiates from the naval to the lower right side could be due to many causes. The low grade fever would suggest an inflammatory or infective process going on. The fact that you have diarrhea could be part of it or related to the antibiotics you are taking. Things to consider would include an appendicitis, gastroenteritis with mesenteric adenitis (where the lymph glands enlarge and cause pain), a urine infection, a gynaecological cause (you don’t mention your age, whether you are a man or a women!) such as pelvic inflammatory disease or PID, ovarian cyst are all possible causes.

I think its important to get this checked. If its an appendicitis, this shouldn’t be left as it will only get worse. Ask your doctor to check this out for you. Good luck!
