Indications: Short term treatment of women with
IBS
(Constipation predominant) who have failed
conventional treatment. WITHDRAWN from women and patients under 65 years of age as
possible increase risk of increased cardiovascular events (heart attacks and strokes).
Caution: Withdrawn due to potential cardiovascular events.
Side effects: headache, abdominal pain, diarrhoea (diarrhea), ischaemic colitis, cardiovascular events
as outlined.
Adult Dose: 6mg tablet twice a day for 4 to 6 weeks.
Tegaserod
